Midge J. Dyke

Midge Jene Dyke, 66, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Midge was born April 22, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She had several siblings growing up.  Family was very important to her.  Midge loved her daddy very much.  They always made time to get together and celebrate life and keep that special bond her family had.  She was a hairdresser by trade.  She served the Oak Grove community, doing hair and chatting it up with her customers.  Midge could have a conversation with anybody.  She wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind.  Sometimes when her elderly customers couldn’t get out of their house, she would drive to them or go and pick them up for their hair appointment.  Midge also did the hair of many who had passed before her.  She had a heart to serve others.  That is the kind of legacy you want to leave behind.

Midge was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Arnold Sr.; her mother, Sylvia Evelyn Arnold; and brother-in-law, Jim Pendergrass.

She is survived by her husband Tom Dyke of the home; daughter, Jeanne Hicks of Oak Grove; son, Johnny Tracy of Oak Grove; three grandchildren: Torri Hicks of Blue Springs, MO, Ashtyn Tracy, and Dominic Tracy, both of Oak Grove; five sisters: Juanita Pendergrass of Wichita Falls, TX, June Boutross (Paul) of Bates City, MO, Betty Plumb (Larry) of Peculiar, MO, Debbie Aurand (Brian McFarlane) of Adrian, MO, and Sharon Warren (Jay) of Butler, MO; and two brothers: Clarence Arnold Jr. (Kathy) of Freeman, MO, and Jerry Arnold (Kathy) of Archie, MO.
