Nadine Stice, 86, Bates City, MO, passed from this life Friday March 22, 2013, in the arms of her daughter at Shangri-La Nursing Home, Blue Springs, MO.
She was born April 20, 1926, in Gladstone, Michigan, the daughter of Ruth Olive Welch Smith McMichael and Edwin Lawrence Smith (d. January 27, 1927) and was raised by her wonderful stepfather Elber A. McMichael.
She graduated from high school in South Haven, MI, in May 1944, and attended Graceland College, Lamoni, IA, 1944 – 1945. She married George Stice on June 4, 1949 in Benton Harbor, MI. Nadine enjoyed in younger years playing piano for church. She also enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and sewing – all her male children can sew their own clothes.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Merle Smith, Blue Springs, MO. Survivors include husband, George Stice, Bates City, MO; four children: sons, Steve Stice (Lillian) Ormond Beach, FL; Mike Stice (Fan Ying) Hangzhou, China; Jim Stice Coffeeville, KS; and daughter Roxie Stice (Barry Zimmerman) Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren: Emily, Rosie and Nick; 2 great-grandchildren: Gilliam & Lucas; 2 sisters: Nancy Jarvis Vogel & husband, Henry, and Sugar Baumgart & husband, Lynn; a niece and four nephews: and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ, Oak Grove Restoration Branch, 1203 N. Broadway, Oak Grove, MO 64075 on Monday April 1, 2013. Cremation.
