
Olen Henry Harms, 89, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14th at Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs, MO; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Timothy Lutheran Church.
Olen was born February 22, 1929, in Cole Camp, Missouri, the son of Arthur and Myrtle (Borchers) Harms. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Olen enjoyed gardening, doing yardwork, and traveling. He had a very strong faith and was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church.
Olen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Fern; son, Mike Harms; and three sisters.
His survivors include three daughters: Cindy Ball (John) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Sandra Hensley (Rick) of Kansas City, MO, and Anita Baker (Tyson) of Jefferson City, MO; daughter-in-law, Karen Harms of Longview, TX; six grandchildren: Darlene Winfrey, Paula Odle, Ashleigh Ball, Katelyn Ball, Kevin Smallwood, and Morgan Baker; and ten great-grandchildren.
