Opal M. Green


Opal Maxine (Cline) Green, 94, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Wilshire at Lakewood.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2nd in Sni Mills Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO.

Opal Maxine Cline was born on December 19, 1926, to Jason McKinley Cline and Mary Ella Virginia Hunt.  She had three sisters, Doris Faye Pike, Thelma Pauline Johnson, and Ruby Lee Kabrick, and four brothers, Venton Ray Cline, Earl McKinley Cline, Lowell Gene Cline, and John Vance Cline.  She was the last to survive being just a few weeks shy of her 95th birthday.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty plus years, Dallas Green.

Opal had no children but was a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Oak Grove High School.  Opal had a career of 30 years as an insurance underwriter for Allstate Insurance.  She was always very happy to tell you that she was retired longer than she had worked.

Reading was a favorite pastime until her eyesight failed.  She also enjoyed traveling, visiting many countries in Europe, and cruises to the Caribbean.  A highlight of her many travels was a trip made to Australia where they stayed on a working ranch.

  2. I thought the world of Opal she was my favorite client always enjoyed seeing her every week along with Doris. I’m so sorry for your loss and sorry I didn’t know if her passing to be able to say my good byes
