Paul Wesley Hobbs, 84, of Lone Jack, MO, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at John Knox Village Hospice, Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; visitation will be 12:30 – 1 pm preceding the service at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, Lee’s Summit, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove Building Fund.
Paul was born February 19, 1930, in Breckenridge, MO, the son of G. William & M. Mae (Spidle) Hobbs. He married Margaret Bunn on December 24, 1954. Paul was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having served at Clark Field in the Philippines. He had been employed with the Bendix Corporation until his retirement. Paul was a member, a Deacon, and a former Adult Division Sunday School Director of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Paul’s survivors include his wife of 59 years, Margaret Hobbs of the home; two daughters: Brandy Gayle Pomeroy (husband Brett “Pete”) of Topeka, KS and Cindy Dayle Fuchs (husband Kenneth) of Concordia, MO; one son: Sean Flannery of Springfield, MO; a grandson: Aaron Paul Moss and a great-granddaughter: Kaidyn Jade Moss.
Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
