Philip Emil Klossner, 82, of Independence, Missouri passed away on April 7, 2020 at home with loved ones around him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Philip was born on May 12, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Emil Jr. and Merlyn (Moser) Klossner. Many of the cherished memories of his childhood were of living on the family farm in Nortonville, Kansas with his grandmother. Later, he attended Wentworth Military Academy but graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Philip then joined the Army and traveled overseas with his wife Norma. Upon returning to the United States, he was employed by Owen’s Corning Fiberglass from which he retired in 1993. Philip had many interests. He loved to play music, participated in bowling leagues, worked as a Marshal at a local golf course, and loved working on his old Chevy. He was a Ham Radio operator (KC0PTP) and always worked to promote amateur radio to the younger generations at his church home, Pebble Creek Assembly of God.
Philip was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Norma Lee (Mahurin) Klossner. He is survived by his daughter Christie Lynn (Klossner) Archer, son-in-law Phillip Archer, and two grandsons: Stephen Archer and Phillip Ryan Archer.
Philip will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generosity, and kindness. He had many friends and was loved dearly.
