Phyllis B. Williams Neill


Phyllis Benola Williams Neill, 88, of Warsaw, MO (formerly of Grain alley, MO), passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton, MO.

Benola was born on November 2, 1921 in Grain Valley, MO, the daughter of Phillip & Benola (Turner) Tate. She was a 1938 graduate of Grain Valley High School. Benola had been a secretary for the U.S.D.A. until retiring in 1989. She was a 46 year member and Past President of the Blue Springs American Legion Auxiliary, a Past President of the 5th District of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

Benola was preceded in death by her first husband, Everette Williams after 29 years of marriage on July 18, 1978; and her second husband, Junior Neill after 14 years of marriage on August 18, 2004. Her parents and a sister, Sarah Jane Williams, also preceded her.

Her survivors include three sons: Tom Williams Jr. of Warsaw, MO, John P. Williams of Deltona, FL, and William Harold Sprague, MO; two sisters: Earlene Miller of Grain Valley and Virginia Nolte of Blue Springs; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13th at Royer Funeral Home, 101 SE 15th Street, Oak Grove, MO 64075; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. preceding the service.
