Ray A. Squires, 64 of Holden, MO (formerly of Oak Grove, MO), passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Ray was born July 18, 1947 to Carl & Betty (Cole) Squires in Kansas City, MO. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Ray married Sharon Buch, March 4, 1972. He was a heavy equipment operator.

Ray was preceded in death by 1 brother: Willie Gilbert.

Ray is survived by his wife Sharon Squires of the home; mother: Betty Gilbert and husband Marion of Bates City, MO; sisters: Jeannie Parker of Texas, Lorrie Andrews of Gravois Mills, MO, Kathy Gilbert and Linda Dendish, both of Versailles, MO, Oma Dene Foster of Bates City, MO; brothers: Richard Squires of Blue Springs, MO, Edward Gilbert of Lee’s Summit, MO, Junior Gilbert of Bates City, MO and Stephen Gilbert of Topeka, KS.
