Raymond Dean Hamer, 67, of Buckner, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12th at Royer Funeral HOme, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 11th at the funeral home.
Raymond was born on June 5, 1940, in Windsor, Missouri, the son of Charles L. and Stella E. (Murry) Hamer. He was a painter & insulator for Missouri Public Service, now Aquilla. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting & fishing in his early years. He was also an avid knife collector and sharpened knives for many, and the local grocery store. He was known for his “famous beef jerky”.
His survivors include one son: Jeffery L. Hamer & his wife, Ladonna of Buckner, MO; one daughter, Cindy L. Wilson & husband, Jeffrey of Buckner, MO; four grandchildren: Ryan Hamer, Rachel Wilson, Jamie Hamilton & JacQue Hamilton; two great-grandchildren: Zach Hamilton & Shayne Adkins; and his former wife of 27 years: Anna L. Aubuchon of Buckner, MO.
