Ray Edward Oliver, 96, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 also at the funeral home; burial in Higginsville City Cemetery following the service. Contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Ray was an Army WWII veteran with 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart Medal. He was an electrician at Ford Motor Company for 22 years, a member of the Christian Church and Ararat Shriners Club (Motor Escort).
Ray is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Oliver of the home; 2 sons, Mike Oliver (Marietta) of Lee’s Summit, and Pat Oliver (Mary) of Independence; daughter, Carolyn Hedrington (Mike) of Albuquerque; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
