Richard Alton Ross, 40, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away July 12, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24th in Shore Cemetery. Please bring something to sit on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hollow rumblings in the sky parade throughout the city, shadows melt; an echo of light pierces the vale of what was, what is, and what will be. A young woman cries out in pain as the child inside her beckons to the world. Thus it was, on a cool winter day in 1979, Richard “of” Ross graced us all with his mighty presence.
He watched; he learned; he played at first, little Richie Ashley with his mother Paula there to cure every thirst. One day he noticed a young maid frolicking about, knowing instantly she was different from the rest; once she flashed that radiant smile his way, a fantastic jewel sparkling against the pale moonlight, he was smitten. Thus it was, on a brisk autumn night, 15 years into life, his love affair with Tisha “of” Ross began.
One by one they came, first Eva, then Owen, Abbi just behind; with a small respite, next came Lily, and Sylas last in line. Through it all, he gave it all while singing songs, telling jokes, watching movies, buying gifts, coaching soccer, attending every kid event. Thus the Ross Clan story began.
Along the way, he had many other names: Rich, brother, son, grandson, uncle, gruncle, and friend just to name a few.
Yet, do not weep for him; no woe, as before a river of darkness took him, a little River of light already touched his soul, fore one tiny friend dubbed him Papa. Of course, now little Ren Kenobi may never hold his hand, yet the light of his life guides the way. Thus, the Ross Clan story continues, forever changed, yet proof that he lived.
Heading this revelation, he awakes gasping for renewed breath. The lingering bellows of souls fallen scream, nah they shriek with one resonating voice:see you someday, my friends; meanwhile, live!
