Richard “Rick” Brooks Perry, 71, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018, at Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24th at Grace United Methodist Church – Oak Grove Campus. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove United Methodist Women or Sni Valley Firefighters Association.
Rick was born August 14, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Wayne D. and Betty L. (Titus) Perry. He was an Eagle Scout in the tribe of Mic-o-say, a Lieutenant Firefighter, and an independent agent with Wayne Perry Insurance Agency. Rick was vice president of the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce for three years, and a member of the Independent Insurance Agency in eastern Jackson County. He married Carolyn Sue Petty on July 12, 1969. Rick enjoyed bowling, fishing, and working outside. He was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Wayne Perry.
Rick is survived by his wife, Carolyn Perry of the home; son, Clifton Perry (Heather) of Blue Springs, MO; his mother, Betty Perry of Oak Grove; brother, Daryl Perry (Anne) of Shawnee, KS; and two grandchildren, Phoebe and Phoenix Perry, both of Blue Springs.
