Robert “Chris” Pratt Jr., 52, of Blue Springs, Missouri, lost his brave battle with cancer on Thursday, December 28, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2nd at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cancer Action, 4010 S. Lynn Court, Independence, MO 64055, or Wayside Waifs, 3901 E. 119th Street, Kansas City, MO 64137.

Chris was born on December 16, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Robert C. and Gloria M. (Smith) Pratt Sr.. Chris owned and operated Chris Pratt Construction. He had been a Grain Valley City Administrator, a Grain Valley Councilman, & was on the Grain Valley Park Board. Chris was Catholic, and enjoyed listening to B.B. King. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His survivors include his wife: Beth A. Pratt of the home; one son : Michael C. Pratt; and two sisters: Robinne Pratt of Houston, TX, and Beverly Dieckman of Monroe City, MO.
