Robert E. Baker, 88, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2019 at his home south of Holden, Missouri. He was born November 9, 1930, in American Falls, Idaho, the son of Orval and Brenetta (Allen) Baker. Robert is survived by his wife of 37 years, Leah Frances; his two children: Dennis Baker and Diane Daugherty, both of Independence; three stepchildren: Gregory Mason of Blue Springs, MO, Robin McNeal of Independence, and Ahna Vaoifi of Independence; twenty-two grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Robert graduated high school from Montpelier, Idaho, and attended Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, spending three years of his time as part of the occupational forces in Japan. Robert graduated from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, in 1957, becoming an accomplished music teacher of high school bands and choirs. He was an avid fly fisherman, aircraft pilot, and R/C control enthusiast. Robert was the author of three published books on religion. He served as an RLDS Church Appointee in the office of Seventy for many years, later becoming Prophet and President of The Church of Christ – His Zion’s Remnant in 1990. He served as a missionary, preaching and bearing testimony of Jesus Christ until his passing. Robert will be sadly missed by numerous saints, friends, and family.
