Robert “Bob” Lee Vestal 80, of Odessa, MO passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Mayview Community Building, 400 Marshall St., Mayview, MO 64071. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family for his grandchildren’s education fund.
Bob was born May 2, 1932 in Dearborn, MO to June & Ada M. (Riddle) Vestal. He was one of ten children. He married Virginia “Ginny” Lee Heldenbrand on May 18, 1952. Bob went into the U.S. Army in October 1952 and spent his first two anniversaries in Korea. He was discharged in September 1954. Bob loved to hunt, fish, build race cars and entertain his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginny” Vestal of the home; son: Lawrence Paul Vestal of Colorado; daughter: Vicki Burroughs & husband David of Odessa, MO; 6 grandchildren: Robert Alan Burroughs of Odessa, MO, David Alan Burroughs of Mayview, MO, Lacey Lynn Goring of Odessa, Noah Freeman Burroughs of Odessa, MO, Shali Lynn Burroughs of Odessa, MO, Cori Vestal of Independence, MO. 5 great-grandchildren; 7 brothers and sisters.
