Robert Stephen “Bob” Yates, 72, of Buckner, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 23rd in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. preceding the service at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley.

Bob was born on August 29, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Robert K. and Winnie M. (Magee) Yates. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Bob married Burnice R. Bourquin on December 4, 1957. He was an electrician and a member of IBEW Local Union #716. He loved to play golf and spend time with “Charlie”, his loving dog.

His survivors include his wife of 48 years: Burnice R. Yates of the home; three sons: Rick Yates & his wife, Betty, Victor Yates, Robert Yates & his girlfriend Kim Foster, all of Buckner, MO; one daughter: Annette Nelson & Jason Nelson; three sisters: Louise Batterton of Mayfield, TX, Irene Tuggle of Garland, TX, Dorothy Smith of Richardson, TX; one brother: William D. Yates of Lancaster, TX; his step-mother: Hazel Yates of Mesquite, TX; nine grandchildren: Amber, Maggie, Steven, Victoria, Nichole, Elizabeth, Emily, Ginna, & Robert; one great-grandson: Steven; several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
