Ronald “Ronnie” D. Wheeler Sr., age 58, died on October 25th, 2014, in Clinton, MO. Ronnie was born on February 4th, 1956 in Kansas City, MO; to parents Thera and John Wheeler Sr. He graduated from Truman High School in Independence, MO. Ronnie was a great family man and a loving father and grandfather. He married Sherry L. Wheeler in 1975 and the couple had three children together.
Ronnie was an active man and even jogged in a 5K in support of his sister, a Breast Cancer survivor, the day he died. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, gardening, and baking the most delicious desserts. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, giving person. His final wish was granted when his body was donated, through Midwest Transplant Network, to be used to help save other’s lives.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Sherry L. Wheeler, of Oak Grove, MO; his sons, Ronald D. Wheeler, Jr., of Oak Grove, MO; Wayne T. Wheeler, of Blue Springs, MO; his daughter, Dessa N. Wheeler, of Oak Grove, MO; and his nine grandchildren; his brother, John Wheeler Jr., of Seymour, TN; his brother, George Wheeler, of Ava, MO; his sister, Donna Ritter, of Blue Springs, MO; his brother, Allan Wheeler, of Pearland, TX; his sister, Nancy Clark, of Clinton, MO; his brother, Larry Wheeler, of Fremont, CA; his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Braden, of Kansas City, MO; his brother-in-law, Darren Braden, of Oak Grove, MO; and his twenty-seven nieces and nephews.
His grandson, Phearious Wheeler, of Oak Grove, MO; his sister, Bonnie Miley, of Independence, MO; his maternal grandmother, Dottie Souder, of Independence, MO; his paternal grandmother, Lucy Wheeler-Weekly, of Kansas City, MO; and his parents, precedes him in death.
A funeral is scheduled for October 29th, 2014, at 7pm at Royer Funeral Home at 101 SE 15th St., Oak Grove, MO with a visitation prior between 6-7pm.
