Ruby was born on May 1, 1930 in Princeton, West Virginia, to Charles M. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Moore. She grew up in Beckley, WV, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1948. Ruby was one of eight children. At age 20, she and her husband Bill and son Mack Wayne, migrated to Kansas City, MO, in order to find work. A daughter, Pamela Jane, was born to them in 1951. The family spent the rest of their lives in the Kansas City area. Ruby worked for Central Bank of Kansas City for 27½ years, retiring in 1995.
Ruby was a Christian and ministering to others became her calling. She taught Sunday school for 35 years, and was a member of Living Waters Church in Buckner, MO. Ruby’s home became the central meeting point for the family. She was an exceptional cook and would never let a friend or stranger leave her home hungry. She loved to spend time at church, and with friends and family. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who had many friends. She always wanted to bless their lives and help them in anyway she could. Ruby will be missed by all of us, but we look forward to meeting her again in Heaven.
She is survived by son, Mack Spicer and his wife Kathy of Independence; two grandchildren: Brian Tripp of Maryville, MO, and Jennifer Ward of Sanger, TX; two great-grandchildren: Tyler Tripp and Tucker Tripp of Maryville; and brother Charles Moore of Beckley, WV.
