Ruth Alta Borron Eggert, 94, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Friday December 29, 2006 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO.
Ruth was born on July 19, 1912 in Tullvania, MO, the daughter of Earl & Myrtle (Turner) Borron. She married Richard Campbell Eggert on April 27, 1940 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1999. Ruth lived in the Kirksville area most of her life and attended Kirksville Teacher’s College. She taught school for several years and then went to beauty school and became a beautician. She & Dick moved to Oak Grove in 1994. Ruth was a memeber of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She loved to crochet blankets & place mats and other items she donated to area hospitals.
Ruth & Dick were famous for the wood carvings they made and sold. Dick did the carving and Ruth painted them.
Ruth had no children but is survived by numerous cousins.
