Ruth B. Frisbey

Ruth Baker Frisbey, 91, of Independence, MO passed away January 22, 2022 on her 91st birthday.

A visitation with her family will be 3:00-5:00 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral home; Independence, MO.

Ruth was born January 22, 1931 in Triplett Mo to Cecil and Annie Marie Baker.  She graduated from William Chrisman High school in 1949.  Ruth worked at Western National Insurance Co and The Cottage Inn where she met her future husband.  She also drove a school bus in Independence from 1967 – 1977 when her full-time passion then became being a loving Grandmother.  John & Ruth were married on May 26, 1950.  They were married for 68 years until his passing.  Together they raised 4 children that survive her, Doug Frisbey (Delila), Carol Frisbey Lopez, Ronda Frisbey Bowling and Diane Frisbey.  5 grandchildren Micki Frisbey, Ryan Caddell, Justin Caddell, Ben Compton (Nikki), Nathan Compton (Allison).  2 great grandchildren Olivia and Jackson Compton.  She is also survived by brother Jim Baker (Kathy) and sister-in-law Nancy Baker and many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her dearly. Ruth was an amazing woman filled with love and orneriness who always had a spot at the dinner table or a smile and hug for anyone that crossed her path.  She had unconditional love and support for anyone that knew her.  All she ever wanted is to have her family around her.  Our family has learned many lessons from her and are still amazed at how God was able to pack so much awesomeness in such a small package. Ruth lost the love her life on September 4, 2018.  Although we feel an incredible hole in our hearts, we are at peace knowing she received the greatest gift to now be reunited with our dad. Ruth was an avid reader until her eyesight began to fail.  She always enjoyed the Thanksgiving Day and Rose Bowl parades, jigsaw puzzles, going to the boat and cheering on the Chiefs and Royals but most all she loved her family the most.  She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

True love is real…We have lived it!
