Samuel Dean Settgast, 26, of Grain Valley, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012.  A visitation will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at a later date in East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO.

Sam was born February 12, 1986, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Mickey D. and Kelly M. (Roberts) Settgast.  He enjoyed writing music & lyrics, rapping & making his own beats, and was an awesome dancer.  Sam also enjoyed playing the trumpet & keyboard.

His survivors include his father, Mickey Settgast of Ft. Dodge, IA; his mother & stepfather, Kelly & Bryan Coffelt of Grain Valley; three children: Gavin Dean Perer Settgast, Irey Isabell Settgast, & Elijah Samuel Settgast; maternal grandparents, Barbara & Don Griffin of Independence, MO; two stepsisters: LeeAnna Robertson & Julie Coffelt; uncle, Michael Settgast of Kansas City, MO; aunt, Devra Settgast of Kansas City; great aunt & uncle, Robert & Ann McGaughey of Mineola, TX; and cousins: Joseph Edmond Montiez III “Trey”, Breanna Taylor, Curtis Chad Wiseman, & Triston Eli Cllaybrook.
