Sharon G. Denney, 65, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30th at First Baptist Church, 400 S.E. 14th Street, Oak Grove, MO 64075.
Sharon was born on July 10, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. She went to school within the Raytown School District but lived the majority of her adult life in the Independence area. Sharon loved gardening, her coy ponds, reading, and animals, but mostly her family. She will be missed by all who love her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene S Mitchell Sr and Mary L Mitchell. She leaves behind two sons, Alan W. Shields Jr. and James Swigert; one daughter, Melissa Miller and her husband Cody; six grandsons and two granddaughters; three brothers: Eugene S. Mitchell Jr, Stephen G. Mitchell, and Stacey L. Mitchell and wife Jodi; and one sister, Sandi Johnson and husband Marcus; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our family wants to extend our sincerest appreciation to Renee Ruth for her unending love and care for Sharon over the last month of her life. Sharon loved you like a daughter. We also want to thank Crossroads Hospice for their amazing care and support to our family in such a sad time.
