Shelia Mae Dyer, 65, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Contributions may be made to M.A.D.D. or Alzheimer’s Association.
Shelia was born April 4, 1951, in Richmond, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur and Patricia (Sharp) McLallen. She retired as a mapper for Jackson County GIS. Shelia was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove and M.A.D.D. She loved music, had a great sense of humor, and especially enjoyed babysitting her granddaughter, Birdie.
Shelia was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Justin Dyer, who was killed by a drunk driver in 2002.
Her survivors include her husband, Brad Dyer of the home; daughter, Lisa Hampton of Mission, KS; granddaughter, Birdie Annabel Smith; two brothers: Greg (Teri) McLallen of Oak Grove and Jeff (Lisa) McLallen of Grain Valley, MO; mother-in-law, Rebecca Dyer of Oak Grove; brother-in-law, Dean (Allison) Dyer of Oak Grove; and sister-in-law, Lori Smith.

1 Sep 2020I am so heartbroken to hear about Sheila. I have known her since she lost Justin. We became friends and was able to talk to each other about Justin and my Son Rob anytime of the day and night. She will be missed by all.
