
Sherman Charles “Charlie” Dunn, 80, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 07, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 14th in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.
Charlie was born August 11, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Sherman John and Charlotte (Meisner) Dunn. He was a member of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Charlie was a transformer repairman for Westinghouse Electric for 26 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, and enjoyed sports, Nascar, fishing, bowling, and square dancing.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bertha Dunn; and one daughter, Vanessa Dunn.
His survivors include his wife, Belita Sperry of Blue Springs; daughter, Deborah Jones (Wayne) of Holden, MO; two sons: Aaron Dunn (Angela) of Lexington, MO, and Elliott Dunn (Anne) of Versailles, MO; one stepson, Donnie Sperry of Wellington, MO; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth Pluckebaum of IN, and Mary Hodges of KY; three brothers: Richard Dunn of KY, Robert Dunn of TX, and Tom Dunn of LA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
