Shirlane Ina Stella (Sterling) Foster, 75, of Chilhowee, Missouri, passed away peacefully the morning of November 27, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.
Shirlane was born January 28, 1944, in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Hall) Sterling. After graduating from Appleton City High School in 1962, Shirlane married her sweetheart, Francis Foster, in 1963 and had three wonderful children, Ron, Mike, & Cindy. Deeply loving & caring for her family and friends, she took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Driving church buses, school buses and Oats vans for 40+ years kept her busy. Being hardworking, prayerful, frugal, unselfish, down to earth, a country girl, inventive, creative, beautiful, artistic, ornery, a bit of a rebel, Shirlane also had a great faith in God. She loved animals, coffee, rock hunting, the outdoors, gardening, sunrises, and had compassion for the most helpless and weak. Her spice & zest for life brought much joy and laughter.
Shirlane will be greatly missed. We are comforted knowing she rejoices now in heaven with her son, Ron, her parents, and all 10 of her siblings. She is survived by her husband Francis; son Mike and his girlfriend Carla; daughter Cindy and son-in-law Gary; granddaughter Brittany, her husband Nate, and great-grandbaby arriving in May; grandsons Joshua and Jesse; Carla’s grandchildren Christopher, Sebaztian, Kay, Karma, & Isabella; daughter-in-law Lisa; and many other family and friends.
“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 was her favorite Bible verse.
