Shirley J. Nield, 81, of Bates City, MO, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019. Services will be held on Thursday, November 21st at the Oak Grove Church of Christ located at 104 S.W. 6th Street, Oak Grove, MO 64075, with visitation at 5:00 p.m. followed by the funeral at 6:00 p.m.
Shirley was born November 28, 1937 to Lawrence & Dorothy Kammerich in Clifton City, MO. She was the youngest of 4 siblings. During her first marriage, Shirley adopted twin girls in 1963. She later married William “Dub” Nield in 1971. In the early 1970’s, she began driving a bus for the Odessa School District and continued to do so for over a decade. Though Shirley had several occupations throughout her lifetime, her most recent was a daycare provider at St. John LaLande Early Childhood Center in Blue Springs, MO, where she cared for infants.
Shirley was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Paul and Bill Kammerich; her husband, William “Dub” Nield; her stepdaughter, LuAnn Manning; and granddaughter, Nikki Manning.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Hellen Jammett; her daughters, Brenda Noland and Linda & Greg Hickmon; her grandchildren, Lucas & Tia Manning, Nate & Harley Ricketson, Nick & Amber Ricketson, Shane Ricketson, William “Cody” Noland, and Sarah & Danny Sprezian; as well as several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
