Shirley Ruth Morgenroth, 76, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006, at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2006 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24th at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Grain Valley for Bible Study Fellowship International.

Shirley was born on January 1, 1930, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Jack and Ruth (Anderson) Cumberford. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1947 and attended Kansas City Business College. Shirley married Paul A. Morgenroth Sr. on December 8, 1950. She was a homemaker. Shirley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grain Valley, the Grain Valley Historical Society, and was on the Board of Education for the Grain Valley R-V School District for 12 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Sturgis Cumberford, and one daughter, Kathren Morgenroth.

Her survivors include: Her husband of 55 years: Paul Morgenroth of the home; one daughter: Marsha Phillips & husband, Jon of Centerton, AR; one son: Paul A. Morgenroth Jr. & wife, Elizabeth of Lawrence, KS’ one brother: William E. Cumberford of Lone Jack, MO; six grandchildren: Brandon, Marcus & Janae Phillips, and Paul III, William , & Walter Morgenroth; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
