Stanley Ray Newby, 84, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Stanley was born July 5, 1929, in Rock Port, Missouri, the son of Charles E. and Lottie (Duerson) Newby. He was a member of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII & Korea. Stanley worked as a machinist for Bendix-Allied Signal for 40 years, retiring in 1990.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Diane Kays; and brother, Garl Newby.
His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Newby of the home; daughter, Terry Rehms of Blue Springs; son, Dennis & Mimi Newby of Independence, MO; daughter, Brenda & Steve Dorsey of Blue Springs; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
