Verlin Kenneth Jacks, Jr., 80, of Cross Timbers, MO, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Boliver, MO. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
Verlin was born on August 24, 1929 in Rutland, OH, the son of Verlin Sr. & Bertha (Harris) Jacks. He was a millwright for the Machinist’s Union, retiring in 1991. He was an Army Veteran (1948-1955) and he served in the Korean War for 3 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Charlene Jacks; and four sisters: Bonnie, Ethel, Nellie, & Sarah.
His survivors include one son: Gary Jacks & wife Lauren of Olathe, KS; two daughters: Debbie Frost & husband Ken of Kingsville, MO and Stephanie Whalen & husband Joe of Cross Timbers, MO; two step-sons: Scott Cordon & wife Kathy of Florida and Rodney Cordon & wife Donna of Independence, MO; two step-daughters: Karen Mitchell & husband Billy of Cross Timbers, MO and Cindy Brown & husband Leon of Independence, MO; one brother: Jerry Jacks of Langsville, OH; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 10step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great grandchildren.
