Vernon Eugene Kaufman, 70, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Burial immediately following in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. preceding the service.
Vernon was born December 22, 1939 in Emporia, Kansas to Fred and Gladys (Stevens) Kaufman. On January 15, 1968 Vernon married Ruth (Scobee) Kaufman. As an over the road truck driver, he loved the scenic sites across the United States, was a member of the new life, Assembly of God Church, and thoroughly enjoyed reading his Bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents into two sons; James Aldrich in 2001 and Joseph Aldrich in 2003.
His survivors include his wife, Ruth Kaufman of the home; two sons: Scott, Kaufman of Oak Grove, MO and Stacy Kaufman of Blue Springs, MO; and two daughters: Melissa Daggett of Platte City, MO and Debbie McSpadden of Florida; and 9 grandchildren.
