Vernon Gene Logan, 87, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2nd at the Church of Christ, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Manuelito Children’s Home, 12 Theta St., PO Box 58, Gallop, NM 87301.
Vernon was born August 27, 1927 in Independence, Missouri, the son of John and Dora (Rowlett) Logan. He served in the United States Army. Vernon married Phyllis J. Story on April 28, 1950. He was a carpenter and enjoyed raising Shelties, horses, gardening, woodworking, and playing guitar.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis on September 6, 2012, one sister and five brothers.
His survivors include his son, Ronald & wife Karen Logan of Blue Springs, MO; his daughter, Phyllis Ann & husband Phil Sadler of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren: Nathan & wife Janai Logan, Angelia Sadler, Vanessa Sadler, Joseph & wife Carla Sadler, & Andrew Sadler; and six great-grandchildren: Marissa, Trenton, Julian, Alana, Alicia, & Jason.
