Vida Lucille Conner, 87, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Lucille was born September 28, 1923, in Henrietta, MO, the daughter of George and Vida (Hutson) Norwood. She was an autoworker for General Motors. Lucille enjoyed quilting, and made quilts for her family. She loved spending time with her family, which included 5 generations.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles H. Conner; three grandchildren, John & David Gasper, Steven Shipman; and one great- grandson, Matthew Kellogg.
Her survivors include daughter, Vida & Ralph Hicks of Kansas City, MO; son, Luther & JoAnn Shipman of Oak Grove, MO; daughter, Jessie & Ron Clay of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Lisa Galvan of Independence, MO; brother, George Lee Norwood of Blue Springs; sister, Roe Jene Heape of Warsaw, MO; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
