Virginia L. Wayman


Virginia L. Wayman, 95, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19th at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 19800 Truman Road, Independence; burial in New Salem Cemetery, Independence.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.

Virginia was born April 24, 1922, near Rothville, Missouri, the daughter of Eldon T. and Marguerite Williams.  She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1941.  Virginia married Eugene Wayman on December 29, 1949.  She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene.  Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, growing flowers, reading, and serving her church.  Many friends and relatives enjoyed her dinners.  She and her husband were able to travel for several years and attended Southern Gospel music conventions.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; a brother, Ralph Williams; and son-in-law, David Clark; and grandson, Sam Wayman.

Her survivors include one son, Gary L Wayman & wife, Sandy, of Roseville, CA; one daughter, Nancy Clark of Belton, MO; one sister, Edna McKenzie & husband, Lowell of Brookfield, MO; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and many friends.
