Wanda Jean Brinker, 82, formerly of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Freeburg, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 8th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in New Salem Cemetery, Independence.
Jean was born March 17, 1935 in Milton, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Rita Mae (Williams) Martin. She was a homemaker. Jean loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved going to the casino, crafting, and working in her yard.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard Brinker; her parents, Charles & Rita Martin; and a sister, Donna Mitchell.
She is survived by her children: Brenda Luebbers (Dan), Kim Fox (Tracy Mammen), and Steven Brinker; her grandchildren: Ryan Rehg (Casey), Rebecca Bowlin, Holly Rehg, Matthew Fox (Kendra), and Jason Brinker (Megan); great-grandchildren: Rylie (Michael), Alyssa, Ella, TJ, Annalynn, and Paxton; and sisters: Carol Stringer, and Connie Smith (Jim).
