Warren August Steffen Jr., 71, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Private burial in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. A Celebration of Life will be held from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4th at Lighthouse Church of Independence, 14411 E. 33rd Street South, Independence, MO 64055. Warren was born December 9, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Warren A. Sr. and Cleta (Deller) Steffen. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Warren was employed by Seasonal Concepts for 31 years. He was an active member at Lighthouse Church of Independence. Warren was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a big hearted, generous person, and was always serving others. Warren was a foster parent to over 30 children, which resulted in 4 adoptions. He enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and camping. Warren was loved by all, and will be missed by many.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Denise; and one brother, Rufus.
His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Robin Steffen of the home; five children: Steven Pagitt (Julie) of Blue Springs, MO, Roy Steffen, Jeneva Steffen, K’Mari Steffen, and Malik Steffen, all of Grain Valley; seven grandchildren: Sierra, Steven, Casey, Andrew, Lina (Abby), Faye, Lyra, and Willow; one sister, Rose Bondurant of Independence; and two brothers: Wayne Steffen of MO, and Richard Steffen of CO.
