Wayne G. Williams Jr.


Wayne George Williams Jr., 73, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016.  A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.

Wayne was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 11, 1942, the first born son of Wayne and Helen Williams.  He was Christened David Wayne Williams on April 27, 1946 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wichita, Kansas.

Wayne graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic School and then attended Wichita State University.  He went on to a lengthy career with Trailways and Greyhound bus lines.

Wayne relished the time with his family and friends.  Among his pastimes, he enjoyed traveling to the many state parks throughout the US, reading books on American history, hunting, fishing and guns (he was a lifetime member of the NRA).

Wayne is survived by the love of his life, Garnith L Williams of Oak Grove MO; two daughters, Kitchel Williams and son-in-law Devin Williams of Blue Springs Mo, and Kelly Baldwin and her partner Leslie Keck of Independence MO.  He also leaves three grandchildren, David Baldwin of Oak Grove MO, Danial Baldwin of Grain Valley MO, and Taylor Williams of Blue Springs MO; and three great grandchildren.
