William C. McIntyre


William “Bill” C. McIntyre, 82, of Independence, Mo, passed away July 18, 2014.  Bill was born April 17, 1932, the son of Ira Jay and Margurette (Leedom) McIntyre.  Bill was a master carpenter and owner operator of McIntyre Construction Co in Independence since 1965 and retired in 2002.  He was an MP in the US Army in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.  Bill was a scoutmaster for Troop #344 and an honorary tribal warrior for the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and a member of American Legion Post #499 in Blue Springs, Mo.   Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.  He loved to be of help whenever he could and he enjoyed tinkering in his garage.  He was very dutiful and faithful in caring for his wife during her illness. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn F. (Lentz) McIntyre, sisters, Charlene Murillo, Dorothy Hicks and Thelma Gentry, and brothers Ira McIntyre and Robert “Bobby” McIntyre.  He is survived by sons, William Curtis McIntyre of Independence, MO, Terry Alan McIntyre (Diana) of Salem, Mo, Will Richard McIntyre (Melinda) of Gardner, KS and daughter Glenda Sue McIntyre of Gardner, Ks., sister Marjorie Brown of Napa, CA, and brothers Stanley McIntyre of Napa, CA and Lloyd McIntyre of St. Augustine, FL., 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at New Salem Funeral Home.  Visitation is 10 to 11 AM prior to the service.  Burial in Oak Ridge Memory Garden with Military Honors.
