William LeRoy Butler, 84, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Villages of Jackson Creek. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15th at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 17902 Whitney Road, Independence, MO 64058; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
Bill was born November 14, 1928, in Beardstown, Illinois, the son of E.V. and Irene K. (Pritchett) Butler. He served in the United States Marines. Bill was a charter member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Independence.
Bill was preceded in death by his faithful wife, Maxine Butler in December 2010 and brother, Jim Butler. His survivors include his church family; brother, Skip (Joann) Butler of Washington; sister-in-law, Beulah Butler of Illinois; and nieces & nephews.
