Leslie Frederick Calvert, 91, of Lone Jack, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th at New Liberty Baptist Church, 32310 County Hwy 8-S (Colbern Road), Oak Grove, MO 64075; burial in Floral Hills East, Lee’s Summit, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 19th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.
Leslie was born August 26, 1927, in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Elza and Mary (Gurtner) Calvert. He was a lathe operator at Allis Chalmers for 28 years, retiring in 1984. Leslie was then a Walmart greeter for 17 years in Blue Springs, Oak Grove, and Lee’s Summit. He was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church.
His survivors include his wife, Marguerite Calvert of the home; daughter, Kathy Warren (John) of Oak Grove; son, Walter “Tiny” Calvert (Gloria) of Oak Grove; sister, Thelma Quick of Lowry City, MO; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 13 great great-grandchildren.
