Barbara S. Fink


Barbara Suellen (Newton) Fink, 72, of Independence MO, passed away May 25, 2016, at St. Lukes Hospice House. The family will hold a Celebration of Life, with dinner to follow, on Sunday May 29, 2016, starting at 3:00 p.m. at their home, 28606 East US 24 Hwy, Buckner MO, 64016.

Barbara was born January 10, 1944 in Smithville, Missouri, the daughter of William and Arsula (Scott) Gabel. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Barbara loved bowling, and was a member of the Monday Night Ladies Bowling League in Grandview, MO.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, William “Bill” Gabel; her mother and stepfather, Dale and Arsula Newton; and her husband, Robert Vincent Fink in 2009. She is survived by two sons: Louis (Alana) Dudley of Independence MO, and Phillip (Cathy) Draves of Buckner MO; two daughters: Bobette (Steve) Young of Liberty, MO, and Robin (Jeff) LaFrance, of Norfolk, VA; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Larry Gabel of Kansas City, KS, and Brian Gabel of Tonganoxie, KS; two sisters: Pamela Henly of Kansas City, KS, and Mary Taylor of Rapid City, SD; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
