Christian K. Lanear

On May 1, Christian Kaiyon Lanear passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 as a result of a car accident on Jefferson Road in Grain Valley, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri.

Born on Friday, November 7, 2003, Christian brought with him a light that brightened the life of everyone around him. Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, he attended Border Star Montessori before moving to Grain Valley where he established his roots. He cherished his relationships with family, friends, teachers, and coaches. Whether it was running the ball on the football field, hurdling in track, co-hosting the school news, managing the speech and debate team, or singing with the show choir, Christian was always enjoying life. He had an infectious smile that melted hearts and created an aura of warmth and comfort. Whether it was someone he had known his whole life or someone he met 10 seconds before, he made others feel as though they had known him for years. Christian made the best out of the worst, always putting others before himself. He ensured others felt seen, heard, and included. Christian was a void filler who lit up any room he walked into and will be missed.

Christian is survived by his siblings William Lanear, Brandon Lanear, and Brooklyn Lanear, parents Chris Lanear and Jess Briggs maternal grandparents, Joe and Laura Haynes, and paternal grandmother, Eangelia Williams. The legacy that he has left behind is larger than life and will live on for years to come. Honor him by smiling more and loving on those around you. You know, doing what Christian would do.

  1. Grandma Eangelia knows she’ll see you again, saying this with tears and a heavy heart, only God knows how much I LOVED YOU. I was reminded by Brooklyn that I shared ( Kurt Franklin’s) song “SMILE” with you in your younger years and it was year theme song, again I Love You❤

  2. To the Family of Christian K. Lanear

For we know that if the earth tent we live in is destroyed we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands, 2 Corinthians 5:1, but we are confident and prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord (verse 8).

We the members of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church offer you our love, support, and of course, continued prayer. May our Heavenly Father grant you peace during this time. As each day goes by celebrate the pleasant and great memories of a life well lived.

    Prayerfully Submitted,
    Christian Fellowship BC
    Stan Archie, Senior Pastor

  3. I didn’t know Christian personally, but my son(Dylan Rathbone) did and sounds like he was a heck of a guy! My heart breaks for the family and all I can think about is this being my son and there is no way I can deal with that! I pray for the family and know he’s in a better place! This breaks my heart!
