  1. Cory was a dear teenage friend of mine. Our parents were good friends at Crestmont Baptist Church in Burleson, TX, and I met him through my sister, who was more his age.

Cory and I often hung out at church and also would have frequent sleep overs at each other’s house, and after he moved up to Missouri, we spent about a week with him there. Among other things, we shared in common a love of chess and music. Cory loved to sing, and I thought he had a great voice and a lot of talent.

He had a great sense of humor, both with witty remarks and practical jokes, but always in good fun. He had a way of enlivening the room and putting everybody at ease. He was very fun to be around, and I always looked forward to hanging out with him. He was always very cheerful and optimistic.

Sadly, I lost track with him after going to college and I heard only later of his passing. His passing is a tragedy to me, and I wish every condolence to his dear family.

Cory had a sincere love of Jesus Christ, so I while now I still mourn and miss him, I hope and pray to be able to see him and hang out again in the resurrection and the life to come.
