It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Blair, age 54, of Orrick, Missouri. David lost his courageous battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026.
David loved his family more than anything in the world. His absolute favorite days were those spent with his son sharing their love of the Chiefs. Whether they were on the phone talking football or at a game together David truly loved spending time with his boy.
David could make friends with anyone. He brought warmth, lots of laughter, and a genuine interest in others to every conversation he had. No one remained a stranger to David for long.
David’s deep love extended to his puppies, Groot, Rufus, and Tweek, who brought him endless joy and were considered a true part of his family. He was a pillar of strength, a guiding light, and an endless source of wisdom for his son, Larry and daughter-in-law Karina. His brightest smiles were often reserved for his beloved granddaughter, Mila, who held a very special place in his heart.
David was preceded in death by his father, Larry Blair; and his sister, Shelley Curits. David is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his son, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Karina; his granddaughter, Mila; his beloved mother, Alicia Blair; his sisters, Charlene Blair and Janie Schatzman; his nieces, Lindsey Smith, Larissa Smith, and Alexis Curtis; and his nephews, Lukas Bolen, John Ross Curtis, Bailey Curtis, and Zander Schatzman. He also leaves behind a host of extended family, dear friends, and neighbors whose lives he deeply touched.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. A burial service will follow immediately at 3:00 p.m. In honor of David, the family warmly invites everyone to attend the services wearing Kansas City Chiefs attire or team colors if you so choose. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the KC Pet Project and/or the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in David’s honor, celebrating his lifelong love for his dogs and his courageous fight with cancer.
