Doris Effie Smith, 87, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to NorthCare Hospice House.
Doris was born August 3, 1928 in Bates City, Missouri, the daughter of Kirby Lee and Essie (Halsey) Smith. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, and making pies.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Henry Smith; and one son, Ronald Smith.
Her survivors include two daughters: Darlene Blair (Jay) of Ankeny, IA, and Peggy Wells (Joseph) of Kansas City, MO; one son, Scott Smith of Liberty; two sisters: Reitha Brown of Independence, MO, and Donna Sell of Clinton, MO; four grandchildren: Todd Smith (Tracy), Beth Hollenbeck (Matt), Travis Overholtzer (Kristina) and Matthew Overholtzer (Jenny); and five great-grandchildren: Blake, Dane, Blair, Lane, and Paige.
