
Gilbert “Gib” England of Independence, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the age of 59 at Centerpoint Medical Center lovingly surrounded by his family after battling health issues for the past few years.
Gib graduated from Truman High School in 1982 and DeVry Institute of Technology. He was always good with computers and technology. He spent the majority of his career working for the family racing insurance business North American Racing Insurance (NARI Agency) for 22 years alongside family and friends until the sale of the business in 2006. He also ran a successful computer “Bulletin Board” for many years during that time. In later years and while battling his health, he worked as a medical organ courier and also did work for his friend’s sign company. Gib was also a proud registered member of the Cherokee Tribal Nation.
Gib is preceded in death by his mother Beverly England. He is survived by his father Virgil George England Jr, brother Sheldon England & wife Sheryl, brother Kevin England, and sister Stacey Laber & her husband David. He’s also survived by nieces & nephews Hannah Francis & husband Steve, Lindsey Heath & husband Corey, Shelby Gregory & husband Brandon, Nathan England, Missy Camp, Mandy Ott & husband Jake. Gib is also survived by great-nephews Jonah Francis, Zecheriah Francis, George Gregory, Joseph Gregory and Junior Gregory.
There will be a private family service and the family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Countless memories of good friends, majormud, trivia, and more – it’s even how I met my wife. My life certainly wouldn’t be the same without you Gib, my eternal gratitude.
