Glenn E. Davis


Glenn Ewing Davis, 78, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Glenn was born December 18, 1940, in Wellington, Missouri, the son of Alonzo and Alice (Nadler) Davis.  He was a former Blue Springs police officer and was a security guard at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.  Glenn was an award-winning beekeeper and a past president of the Missouri Beekeepers Association.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the state fair.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Joanne Bowers Davis in 2009; infant son, Kevin Davis; daughter, Tammy Wilson in 1999; and sister, Judy Finkemeier.

His survivors include two daughters, Leslie Falke (Scott) and Karla Samrany, both of Liberty, MO; brother, Larry Davis (Dukie) of Wellington, MO; two sisters, Virginia Fanolio of Wellington, and Patty Parr of Blue Springs, MO; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

  3. Sorry to have missed the services for Glenn. What a fine man, very good friend to my dad Charles, always a smile on his face. He showed our young boys about beekeeping at our place many years ago. Sorry you lost such a wonderful man so soon. God bless. – Paul Lamison
