James Eugene Hickman, son of James and Mary (Stice) Hickman, was born July 27, 1956, in Kansas City, MO. He departed this life Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Oak Grove, MO, at the age of sixty-seven.
On January 30,1980, he united in marriage to Shelly Olene (Offield) Hickman. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry Hickman, Leslie Saddler, and grandson Dylan Hickman.
James is survived by his sisters Loma Gibline, Lucille Williams and Linda Lemken of Houston, Texas, son Chris Hickman and wife Jessica of Lee’s Summit, MO, daughter Cyndee Murray and husband Josh of Licking, MO and daughter Jennifer Hickman of Leesburg, FL; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Funeral services for James will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 2pm at the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Hartville, MO. Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Raintree Lake Duck Pond Activity Center in 111 SW Cole Younger Dr., Lee’s Summit, MO at 2pm. The burial will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
