Jo Ann Gillison, 93, of Independence, Missouri passed away on July 17. 

She was born to Archie W. and Marguerite Crandall on July 16, 1930. Raised in Kansas City, she graduated from Westport High School. In 1955, Jo Ann married Charles “Chuck” Gillison and they moved to Independence. Her work experience included several years as head cashier at Jack Henry’s Clothing.

Predeceasing her are her parents, twin sister Betty Ann Duncan, and husband of 68 years, Chuck.  She leaves behind children Craig and Christie, son-in-law Randy Panos, and nephew John Troup and his family.

Jo Ann enjoyed cooking and was passionate about animals and caring for her family.  She will be deeply missed. She requested no funeral services. Should you wish to leave a memorial, Animals Best Friends in Independence is suggested.
