John C. Armstrong


John Charles Armstrong, 77, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th at The Fieldhouse, 1300 SE 30th Street, Oak Grove, MO 64075, with Memorial following at 5:00 p.m.

John was born January 10, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of John and Cecilia (King) Armstrong.  He was a 1962 graduate of Oak Grove High School.  On November 23, 1966, John married Beverley Lee and she preceded in death.

His survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Cordle (Mike) of North Carolina; two sons: John Armstrong Jr. (Becky) and James Armstrong (Melinda), both of Oak Grove; eight grandchildren: Brandi, Jamie, Kimberly, Shaina, Sydnie, Brody, Haiden, and Lily; and five great-grandchildren: Ansley, Haleigh, Coley, Clayton, and Lillian.

  1. With sympathy to John’s family.
    My memories of your parents come from 1959 to 1961 when my family lived in Hardin. (After we moved, we still continued our friendships and attended the all-class Hardin Reunions.) John was in my sister Barb’s class. My perspectives of your parents comes from me being an underclassman. I remember your mother as being beautiful, blonde and sweet. Your father as being funny and nice. Your grandfather baptized Barb and me @ 1959 at the Hardin Christian Church.

  2. I have known John for the last 40 years. What a nice guy, always willing to help, and a real good neighbor. He will be missed.
