Joyce “JoAnn” Weedman Pentico Crall


Joyce “Joann” Weedman Pentico Crall, 81, of Oak Grove, Missouri, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 13, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Joann was born March 27, 1935 in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Laurence and Mary (Vytlas) Weedman.  She was raised on the farm in Ruleton, Kansas, and was a 1953 graduate of Sherman County High School in Goodland, Kansas.  Joann moved to Missouri in 1972 with her children and worked for Wild Woody’s in Independence, MO, and after they closed down, she worked for Price Chopper as a cook.  She was a fantastic chef and always had some delicious concoction waiting for anyone who stopped by, usually a big pot of chili or chicken & dumplings. She also usually had maple bars, date-filled cookies, cinnamon rolls, and pecan rolls on hand.  Joann loved cooking for her family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.  She was a wonderful sister, mother, and friend.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by 4 of her 6 children: Marcette McCarthy of Odessa, MO, Bruce Pentico of Tacoma, WA, Mark Pentico of Kingsville, MO, and Claudette Pentico of Oak Grove; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanne Boulier of Olympia, WA; and many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Larry Pentico and William Terry Pentico; her husband, Thomas Crall; and 1 sister, Shirley Mader.

  2. My condolences to you. I worked with JoAnn at Price Chopper during summer and holiday breaks during my college years. In fact she was my first boss. I’m grateful for her love of working in the deli and being a great boss. Peace to you. ~ Sheri Clark

  3. So sorry that she left this world, but I know where she is she’s an angel with many stars. She was a great mother and friend I will always remember her. If anyone ever deserved to win the Lottery it was Joann she worked very hard and never complained great person I’m going to miss her. I wish the family best wishes and may GOD bless this family.
